Volunteer Business Mentors required for BIS Mentoring Challange; Mentor-net

Mentor-net links volunteer business mentors to the owners and directors of other businesses to help them develop themselves and their enterprises.

The Mentor-net team brings a huge range of general and sectorial expertise to bear on these relationships and Mentor-net is always seeking to extend the breadth and depth of this resource.

All volunteer business mentors need to have current or recent experience of running a business and the ability to communicate well. Many also bring with them highly specialised knowledge in areas such as technology, IT, finance, manufacturing and retail. Mentor-Net are now looking to add to thier team through the addition of mentors with experience in new or existing businesses.

Each of the mentors undertakes this volunteer work for many reasons which include:

* An opportunity to give back something of what they have learnt during their own career
* To keep their knowledge current
* Personal development - improving their 'soft' skills
* Broaden their network
* For the challenge
* Minimal time commitment (is likely to be a couple of days per month)
* Expenses are paid

The clients tend to be:

* New owner of directors of an established business
* Open to mentoring relationship and process
* Seeking development or growth within the business

If you are open to the challenge of being a mentor and would like to know more please contact Jin Sandhu at Marine South East on 02380 111590 or admin@mseuk.org
