Ocean winds and waves monitoring with GNSS-Reflectometry, 5th March 2015, NOC Southampton

Following the successful launch in July 2014 of the UK TechDemoSat-1 satellite, the National Oceanography Centre is hosting a one-day workshop on 5th March 2015 to present first results for ocean surface wind and waves monitoring with GNSS-Reflectometry on TechDemoSat-1.

The workshop, organised in partnership with Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd with support from the European Space Agency and the UK Centre for Earth Observation Instrumentation, will give participants the opportunity to learn about this groundbreaking Earth Observation technique, including presentations about its capabilities and its potential for improved global wind and wave monitoring.

The workshop will also include talks from potential users of the data and discussions of future user needs for enhanced space-borne wind monitoring capability.

The meeting is free-of-charge and will take place on Thursday 5 March 2015 at the National Oceanography Centre, Southampton from 09:00 to 16:00.

Places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis to registered participants.

Registration and further information about the meeting is available from
