Marine Renewable Energy (MRE) Manche taking place in Le Havre 6th/7th October 2015 is nearly sold out. But there are some stands which have been held back for Marine South East companies to take part.
The event will have around 40 exhibitors and we expect at least 400 visitors. The conference programme is now very well advanced and this year there are enhanced B2B networking opportunities.
We all know that at the end of a conference session there is a mad rush to talk to one or more of the speakers. This is undignified and inefficient, so what we have done is extend our own stand and agreed with our speakers that they will be available to talk to delegates there for at least an hour after their presentation. We are working too on ways to enhance the BtoB experience so that it becomes an ongoing business tool even after the event.
If you are serious about doing business in France, either in shipping or in offshore wind you need to be at the party. If you are thinking that nothing much is happening in France, we are not going to quarrel with that view - things are running very late and currently we are witnessing the - to British eyes - astonishing spectacle of running a second series of public consulations. Round 1 was to decide on the principle; Round 2 is to decide whether to grant Planning Consent. This is just one example of how different things are in France. Because we know how difficult this is, we are organising a Special Event on the British stand at lunch-time on Day 2 where we will host a discussion of how to win business in France. We hope to entice people from UKTI in Paris to strengthen the team available to you.
