Environmental Sensing for Sustainable Development Workshop, 18th February 2016, London

Environmental pollution is a major challenge facing society. To enable sustainable development of society and the economy, effective monitoring and control of environmental pollution is key. In this workshop, key industry environmental experts, sensing technology providers and researchers into novel sensors will be brought together to share knowledge on environmental challenges, state of the art commercial technologies, and developments in novel sensing approaches.

Pollution of air and water and contamination of land due to industrial activities, waste disposal, chemical and biological incidents, can cause serious harm to the health of the natural environment, and reduce the natural resources needed to sustain the healthy development of our society and economy. To address such environmental challenges, new technologies, policies and solutions are required.

The purpose of the event is to provide a cross-sectoral networking opportunity, to facilitate knowledge exchange, generate new ideas, collaborations and partnerships, and introduce technology developers to opportunities for funding of further work.

The workshop is being organised by the Sensors and Instrumentation KTN and will take place at Ambassadors, 12 Upper Woburn Place, London, WC1H 0HX.
