Solent LEP Portsmouth Smart Motorways Business Engagement Event, 19th September 2017
Solent LEP are inviting businesses to come and learn about the smart motorway scheme on the M27 at an event taking place Tuesday 19th September 2017 at the Portsmouth Guildhall.
Highways England are currently working with Mott MacDonald to design the smart motorway scheme between junctions 4-11 of the M27 - a key part of the strategic road network, providing a vital transport link between Southampton and Portsmouth, while also connecting to the M3 at junction 4, leading to Winchester.
The scheme will aim to reduce congestion, smooth the flow of traffic, improve journey time reliability and provide increased capacity on the motorway.
The Solent LEP is hosting a roundtable session to enable businesses in the Solent region to learn more information from Highways England about the scheme, as well as the measures that are currently being considered to mitigate the impact of the construction phase, and to give feedback on the proposed plans.
