National Shipbuilding Strategy published

The long-awaited National Shipbuilding Strategy which sets out a 30 year plan for naval shipbuilding and takes account of the recommendations by Sir John Parker has been published.

The report confirms that exportability will be embedded in future shipbuilding designs and heralds a greater co-ordination across government to support export campaigns.

Building on the government's industrial strategy, the report outlines an ambition to transform the procurement of naval ships, make the UK's maritime industry more competitive, grow the Royal Navy fleet by the 2030s, export British ships overseas, and boost innovation, skills, jobs, and productivity across the UK.
