Shipyard visit to Cammell-Laird Shipbuilders & Ship-Repairers in Birkenhead, 15th November 2017

The SMI are hosting a visit to Cammell-Laird Shipbuilders and Ship-repairers in Birkenhead which will include a tour of the yard to view progress on the polar research vessel, the Sir David Attenborough, under construction at the yard.

The recent publication of the government's National Shipbuilding Strategy heralds the potential resurgence of shipbuilding in various UK shipyards.

It will therefore become ever more important for the UK maritime industry supply chain to be fully aware of the capabilities of the UK shipyards around the country. To this end a series of shipyard visits is being arranged by the SMI so that companies can become acquainted with the infrastructure that has been developed in each shipyard as well as its current and future programme of work.

The cut-off date for receipt of all applications is Friday 3rd November 2017.
