Marine business commercial space opportunities; Chapel Riverside Development, Southampton

Chapel Riverside is the proposed redevelopment of the old Town Depot, situated on the western bank of the River Itchen, north of the Itchen Bridge in Southampton.

Lambert Smith Hampton are handling enquiries for this 9 acre site which will include mixed use development and flexible commercial space for marine businesses, offices and retail opportunities.

Employment space is vital to Southampton and this new development will offer business space that takes advantage of the waterside setting, with flexible units ranging from 46 sq m (500 sq ft) to 1,950 sq m (21,000sq ft). The Eastern Docks (Dock Gate 4) and Southampton city centre are approximately half a mile distant from the site.

Planning consent for 457 residential units, with 4,963 sqm (GIA) of commercial floor space (use class B1) and 946 sqm (GIA) of flexible retail space (use classes A1 / A2 / A3 / A4) has been granted. A riverside walkway will also be created.

Development has commenced for the first phase of the development, comprising residential and retail floor space. Further phases will include residential space, along with flexible commercial space for office, marine and retail usage.

Timescales and construction can be brought forward to accommodate prospective tenants.

Lambert Smith Hampton are inviting interested parties to open discussions now to ensure that fit-for-purpose accommodation is designed and constructed to tailor around business needs.
