Public Tender for Air Supported Vessel
Sealed tenders are invited for the construction of one concept feasibility demonstrator prototype vessel as part of the EU 7th Framework R&D project BB Green with the following particulars:
* Concept: Air Supported Vessel (ASV) monohull with simple superstructure
* Building materials: Composite sandwich construction
* Proposed use: testing of the new fast commuter ferry concept
* Max displacement: 28 tonnes
* Design speed: 30 knots
* Powering: propulsion and lift fan drivelines; electric battery
* Propulsion: contra rotating pod propulsion; two drivelines
The European and international markets have expressed considerable interest in the high efficiency, emission free passenger transport solution. The tender winner may be awarded commercial exploitation tights to the new patented technology.
