WICO Guidelines to be available on USB pens

The WICO Guide Lines which are being presented at the EU Sustainable Energy Week on 14th April 2011 in Brussels - see item above for more information and details on how to attend - will be available after the presentation on a USB.

If you are not able to attend the event in Brussels but would like to receive a USB with the WICO Guide Lines please email smelchiorri@mail.provincia.ra.it in order to request a USB.

The WICO partners have been working for over 18 months exchanging information and best practices and analysing the barriers to the greater use of small wind systems to produce renewable energy.

A detailed analysis was conducted and concrete actions were taken in order to understand important issues such as influencing and modifying local planning rules to simplify the administration and planning applications of small wind systems; how to overcome barriers to installations; the existing technologies and their characteristics; the economic viability of applications and financial incentive systems.

This work has culminated in the production of Guide Lines aimed at providing key information for decision makers dealing with policy design and implementation to stimulate a wider uptake of small-scale wind turbines.

The Guide Lines contain the main conclusions drawn from the experience of the WICO partners, and give suggestions to create the ideal conditions to stimulate the uptake of small wind renewable energy systems along the coastlines.

Such conclusions and suggestions are based not only on the analysis work jointly carried out, but also on the concrete experience the partners made while implementing the project.
