South East Offer for the 2012 Games launch event, Wednesday 9th May 2007

The event will include presentations from Pam Alexander, Chair of the South East Group for the 2012 Games and Jonathan Edwards, Olympic Triple Jump gold medallist and athlete representative on the Board of London 2012. There will also be presentations on

The objective of the day is to:

* Provide information on plans and opportunities for London 2012

* Launch the South East Partnership / Regional Framework to add
value to the opportunities across the region

* Identify actions already taking place in the South East and specific plans for 2007 and 2008; and

* Give people practical examples of how they can get involved
The launch will give delegates the opportunity to network with regional
and local players. In addition, delegates will hear about regional priorities and successful examples of how localities are engaging with the opportunities for the 2012 Games to provide a lasting impact and legacy. Practical workshops will be held on:

* Compete: Business Support and Going for Green

* Create: Culture and Communities

* Collaborate: Accessibility

* Compete, Create, Collaborate: Local plans and how to get involved
