Strategic Opportunities Workshop: “Are You Ready For Change?, 18 May 2007
Venue: Holiday Inn, Portsmouth
The Solent Forum is holding this workshop to discuss the implications of such developments for the Solent area.
The day will consist of sessions involving information giving, via presentations followed by group discussions. Presentations will include: Outline of Government’s White Paper with particular focus on marine spatial planning; Met Office climate change scenarios for the Solent; data and information management; the implications of the South Hampshire Strategy on the coast and SEEDA’s Waterfront Strategy.
The main aims of the workshop will be:
• To inform attendees of the Marine Bill White Paper, in particular the Marine Spatial Planning element, so they can respond to the consultation from a coastal perspective.
• To determine the future shape of the Strategic Guidance, in particular to explore if the revised Strategic Guidance could become a subsidiary plan of a regional MSP.
• To consider the Role of the Forum in line with the changing environment and redefine if necessary
